第一章 我喜欢你,游戏结束

Chapter 1: I Like You. Game Over.

“Oh” was not an acceptable answer, and it was harder to deal with than a refusal.

After class, Aoi went to find Nanjo, ready to announce that it had only been a penalty game. Nanjo handed her a borrowed reference book—she could not even remember when she had left it on his desk.

“I know,” he said. “The spinner was loud.”

“Then let’s pretend it never happened.”

“But you said you like me.” Nanjo lined up the spine of the book. “And I said oh. Oh means: I accept. By the rules, the game has already turned into a date.”

For the first time Aoi felt that, beyond the school rules, there was a more troublesome set of rules, written by this unremarkable boy.
