So when the ache in her leg gets worse, she hides it. She forges an elevator pass, ices her thigh at 2 a.m., and keeps landing kills like nothing is wrong. Until the night she can't get up off the hallway floor.Chandler has been her brother's best friend since kindergarten, and he's the only one who noticed the limp. He's also the only person besides Sloane that Dashiell, a terrified rescue terrier, will walk up to. If Dashiell is going to pass his evaluation in March, Sloane needs Chandler on the training room floor every Saturday.He's been in love with her since they were five. She has no idea. And the promise he made her in the ER could cost him his best friend.Then chemo takes her hair and her season, and every kind thing Chandler does starts to look like pity. So she pushes him away.
