### Chapter 1: Chapter-2

Lydia POV “Mom, school was so much fun today! We did a demonstration of Archimedes’ principle in physics, and we also learnt about contact and non-contact forces!” I raised my eyebrows. “Really? That sounds interesting.” “It was! We used water and different objects, and our teacher showed us why some things float and some things sink. Then we did the forces thing, too!” “Slow down, Professor Eli,” I said, laughing. “Let’s start from the beginning. Tell me what happened.” He took a deep breath, as though preparing to deliver a lecture to an audience that had paid good money for tickets. “So, first, our physics teacher brought a big transparent container filled with water. She also brought a measuring cylinder, a small metal object, a stone, a piece of wood, and a plastic ball. Before she started, she asked us what we thought would happen if she put each object into the water.” “And what did you say?” “That the stone would sink, the wood would float, and the plastic ball would f

Lydia POV “Because this is exactly what was missing, and I couldn’t put my finger on it. We kept talking about more influencers, bigger billboards, and increasing our reach. But we weren’t asking what we wanted people to feel, remember, or do after seeing the brand.” I smiled. “That’s why strategy comes before tactics. Before you spend more money, decide what you want to achieve and what perception you want to build. Then choose the activities that will help you get there.” There was a short silence. Then Anna practically shouted, “YES! EXACTLY! That’s it! That’s what was missing!” I pulled the phone slightly away from my ear and laughed. “Anna, please. My hearing is very important to me.” “I’m sorry, babesss, but I’m excited! I’m going to take this back to my team. We need to review the current strategy, identify what is working, and then build something more cohesive. And I need you to help me think through the campaign idea when we get to that stage.” “Let’s not get ahead of

Lydia POV “Because you know me too well.” She chuckled. “But listen. I feel like there’s something missing from our new PR strategy.” That got my attention. Anna had been working on expanding the visibility of her business, and from what she’d told me previously, the team had already invested in influencer partnerships and billboard advertisements. “Okay,” I said. “Tell me what you’re currently doing.” “We have influencers promoting our products, and we’ve put up billboards in strategic locations. We also post on our social media pages, obviously. Engagement has been decent, and people recognise the brand, but I don’t know. It feels like we’re missing something. Something that makes people connect with us beyond seeing our products on a billboard or watching an influencer talk about them.” I hummed thoughtfully. “Hmm. That’s actually a good observation.” “Thank you, my PR goddess. Please, enlighten me.” “First of all, I think you need to stop looking at PR as just getting peo

Lydia POVI wanted greenery and flowers, but not an overwhelming amount of either. I wanted natural light, warm lighting in the evening, simple table settings, and a layout that allowed people to talk to one another without having to lean around enormous centrepieces. I wanted a garden if we could find the right venue, and I wanted the decorations to complement it. If we eventually chose an indoor space, I wanted the same feeling of warmth and intimacy to carry through. Most of all, I wanted something that felt like us. I could picture the day without having to force myself into the picture. That settled it. I selected the second vendor’s page and copied the link into my message to Anna. Event decor: Vendor Two. I added a few of my favourite reference pictures and a short note explaining that I preferred their garden setups, natural greenery, soft lighting, and intimate table arrangements. I also made a mental note that we would need to discuss their packages, available venues,

Lydia POVWhen I woke up, the first thing I noticed was the light filtering through the curtains. The second was the fact that my body felt as though I’d been transported somewhere, disassembled, and put back together by someone who had only glanced at the instructions. I reached for my phone. 3:00 p.m. I blinked at the screen. Then I sat up so quickly that I had to pause and gather myself. Three o’clock? Goodness. I had intended to take a short nap, not enter another time zone. I rubbed my face, staring at the time as if the numbers might rearrange themselves into something more reasonable. They didn’t. My tiredness was beginning to alarm me. I knew I’d been under a fair amount of stress over the past few days, but sleeping that deeply in the middle of the afternoon was becoming difficult to explain away. Perhaps my body was simply demanding the rest I’d been denying it. Still, I couldn’t ignore how unusually exhausted I’d been feeling lately. I made a mental note to pay a

Lydia POV“I don’t even know, fr, Anna. But what I do know is that I’m not inviting Iny.”Anna’s expression settled into something more serious. “Okay.”“I know she’s my younger sister, and I know she has apologised for the things she did. I’m not pretending she hasn’t. I heard her out, and I appreciate that she acknowledged her mistakes, but…” I paused, trying to find the right words. “I’m just not in that space yet, Anna. I don’t want to bring her near my newfound happiness, my kids, or my wedding day and then spend the entire time wondering if I’ve made a mistake. I’ve worked too hard to get to this point. I want to enjoy my wedding without carrying the weight of all that history around with me. And if not inviting her is what I need to do to protect my peace, then that’s what I’ll do. I’m not going to feel guilty about it.”Anna nodded slowly. “Hmm. Fair, fair.”“I’m serious. I’m not doing that to myself. Not on my wedding day. So, please, let’s leave it at that.”“Of course, babe

Bernard stepped in, hands clasped neatly in front of him.“I apologize for disturbing you, ma’am. I came by earlier, but there was no response.”I rubbed my eyes. “I was asleep.”“Yes, ma’am.”He said it so respectfully that I almost felt bad for sounding irritated.Almost.“Would you like dinner?”
