Years later, Dara’s granddaughter is raising three children in Brooklyn when the lotus awakens. A terrifying creature called the Hollowkin appears, leading the family beneath Brooklyn to an ancient sealed door. Behind it is a mysterious girl with the narrator’s face—and memories she was never supposed to remember. As the family uncovers secrets hidden by Grandma Dara, they learn the lotus was protecting more than their past.
